A Study on mobility of uranyl and europium ions on silica gel by using photoluminescence microspectroscopy

We are trying to elucidate migration behavior and adsorption/desorption mechanism of various radionuclides. In this study, it was clarified that the mobility of europium ion (Eu$$^{3+}$$) on silica gel was greatly changed by the coexistence of uranyl ion (UO$$_{2}$$$$^{2+}$$).

We aim to evaluate diffusion risk of various radioactive elements in the 1F contaminated water by clarifying their environmental mobility. In this study, we report a method that can relatively easily investigate mobility of radioactive elements using microspectroscopy in microscale experiment.
